Wind-down Wednesday

This time of year can be difficult for a lot of people for many different reasons. Some find joy and some find loneliness and pain.

During this time we need to look out for ourselves. I struggle with self-care but as my psych put it yesterday it’s about maintenance. You service your car you need to service yourself.

What is something little you can do today and over the next coming days to maintain your mind and body. Could it be sitting and having a coffee and relishing the moment not thinking about what is next or what is coming? Noticing the warmth that it gives. Could it be reading a little bit of a book and focusing on that? Spending time with a pet and feeling the love and connection? Or anything that takes just 5 minutes to be out of your mind and just be. Focus on that moment. 

For me I’m going to have a bath and just focus on the scent of the candle and listen to my white noise and hopefully block everything else out.
