Social Groups

Hey all

I'm based in the northern suburbs of Melbourne.

Does anyone know of any social groups.

Things like gardening, movie clubs, crafts, board games (not D&D).

Even some zoom style group hangouts.

Things that are more ongoing, rather than one off events.

Re: Social Groups

There are some groups on reddit in the r/ Melbourne subreddit... I think they are mostly chess clubs/board games etc

Hi 🙂 I’m bad at making friends and I have a horrible personality..old and don’t like to ask..I don’t.  But did you read an article in the papers recently about a new new petit bourgeois..experience of loneliness?

now loneliness is a pathology? You can fix if you’re wealthy. Is the new Disney movie..hoppies what Anton la Vey wrote in the Satanic doctrine when he spoke of transhumanism?

also..don’t call the cops!!! Please. I’m working on a joke. It’s not a good joke. It’s not a 000 reputable offense

Re: Social Groups

That’s a really “mental thing” that I wrote. I wrote it because I needed to get something off my chest. That feeling..the wrong one.., you feel like you want to peel the skin off your body. You want to run away. You want to burn bridges..you want to salt the earth.

Community Centres (Often attached to the town library) usually have groups like that

Re: Social Groups

@FracturedBeing , do you know about the Libraries after Dark program? They may have something i your area. https://www.plv.org.au/projects/libraries-after-dark/

I've attended a few craft ones and I really enjoyed them.

Also, in my area, we have a lot of free social acitivities available through our local neighnourhood house and the council. Coffee and Chat, pickleball, yoga, walking groups, mens shed, cooking, paiting, candle making...

Look into it your council.

Bulldog's also have a Sons of the West Program and Daughters of the West program. It's a lot of fun if you wanted to join. They are all free of charge.

@FracturedBeing u3a has groups like that if you are over 50.

I am really glad your housing situation has some stability for the the next year, even if you have to move.  Hoping its a good experience.
