My day’s pretty quiet, just catching up on things here and there and taking it as it comes. Need to find the motivation to go for a walk later, it’s so cold here though! Hope you manage to get a bit of a relaxed day in between everything 🤍

Yeah, it is getting a bit chilly now isn't it. I pulled out my winter coat yesterday, thought it might have been a bit premature, but it was totally appropriate, I was glad for it.

I reckon all the aches and pains are worse in the colder weather @Shaz51 , have you got a hot water bottle? Does that relieve the pain a little? I know about backs unfortunately 😑

Hi all,

My day was shaping up to be a connected one. I have an RDO today and I was going to meet up with a friend whom I have a deep connection with. She is the only person I really talk to about what's going on for me. We haven't caught up since early December. But she is two weeks post recover from COVID and woke up with a migrain. Our catch up is cancelled. 

I've had tears and the realisation that I am feeling terribly lonely at the moment.

I need to fill my day with "plans" so that I don't drop into the spiral. So, I'm doing a couple of hours of study, then I might go to a local cafe for lunch and back home to do some paint by number, work on a Lego set I'm trying to finish and take my dog for a walk. 

I have lawns to mow, but it's rained for three days and they're too wet. There's snow on the hilltops and it's not goimg to get above 13 degrees today.

Sounds like you have planned a solid day though. Taking yourself out for lunch is a nice idea, treat yourself to something warm and yummy 😋 I think my local top temp is only about 13 as well. Time for us to rug up for sure!

You know what I haven't done in ages?! Coffee and cake at a cafe! Yum! I could totally go a fat piece of cheesecake or carrot cake with cream cheese icing and a strong cap (extra hot...cause I'm annoying like that 😇) 

I hear you're lonely...I'm not ignoring that bit, I get lonely sometimes too. It's cool that we can reach out here and make connections though I know it's not the same. I hope you and your friend reschedule for some time soon.

I’m really sorry your plans fell through, especially when it was something you were looking forward to and a chance to feel connected again

It sounds like you’ve got a lot of awareness around what helps you though, even recognising the need to keep some gentle structure in your day so you don’t slip into that spiral. The plan you’ve put together sounds really balanced too, a mix of getting out, doing something creative, and having some quieter time.

Hopefully you can still find a few small moments of connection or comfort in those things today, even if it’s not quite what you had originally hoped for.

Also, snow on the hilltops sounds beautiful, even if it does make for a pretty cold day ❄️

@hopeful_hannah I love your idea of cake and coffee, it's actually something I've been craving for the last couple of days, so maybe lunch, cake and coffee for desert is the way to go today?

@Nala2022 I've been pulled lately towards the need for connection, and this morning was really when it clicked that I'm feeling lonely. I am lonely for deep connection. Tackling some study allows me to do those things without feeling guilty. I can convince my brain that I've done something purposeful today and it's okay to do something creative or quieter. 

I so want to say, so I will - "winter is coming!"

Oh spasms are terrible @Shaz51 . I know I had back spasms in my back in bed last year. Hope it improves soon. Yes I  know it is later there but still relatively early for lunch not that I can talk as I usually have lunch early just not hungry today yet. Puss is on my lap too.

It sounds like a really important realisation, even if it’s not an easy one to sit with. Wanting that deeper kind of connection is such a human thing, and it makes sense it’s coming up more for you at the moment.

I like how you’ve found a way to balance things too, doing some study so it feels purposeful, while also giving yourself permission to have that quieter or creative time. That’s a really thoughtful way of working with your energy rather than against it

And yes… “winter is coming” definitely feels accurate right now 😄

Hi @Shaz51 No I didn't go to hospital.

If my GP would not treat the bone infection, then probably hospital wouldn't either.

I've booked a different Dentist (who I've seen before), for a 2nd Opinion.

There's no point in asking for a Referral (from Dentist) to a Dental Specialist - As GP Dr suggested to do.

I don't have any Health Insurance Cover for a Dental Specialist - I just have Ancillary Extras Health Cover, which does not cover it.
